An email on 16th July updated us with the following about Beryl's new vehicle.
It seems the purchase of this “new” vehicle was going ahead with paperwork expected to be finalised last Tuesday 8thJuly ’14. Beryl will also add other features to it so that it will not be able to be stolen like it’s predecessor! It seems to have only very few thousands kilometres on the clock and looks brand new! It is fully enclosed and therefore has air conditioning throughout, a great comfort for the passengers she carries when the vehicle doubles as an ambulance. As the seats fold down sick passengers will be able to lay down full length in relative comfort. She hoped to return to the Chaco during last week, learning as she goes how to drive this Toyota Surf, which has an automatic gearbox! She has driven automatics previously! Pray for Paraguay as it recovers from floods.or people living in the Chaco where it has rained for months now (extremely unusual). The flooding of the River Paraguay due to heavy rain in recent months has left thousands displaced, with many indigenous Paraguayans in critical situations due to lack of food, access to clean water or health care. Please pray that hey will soon be able to return home.
